Collection of audiovisual R&D performances / live experiments developed with Unreal Engine 5 and Ableton Live between Jan - Jul in 2024. There have been many artists utilizing Niagara Systems for audiovisuals in UE5, but not with purely manipulating Actor Blueprints
It certainly was a challenge, as UE5 is really not made to be used for audiovisuals. Just to achieve simple effects, it took a long time to code, but the real-time rendering quality can not be beaten.
Most of the interactivity is MIDI as it is the most efficient, as triggers are updated only on note on/off. MaxForLive is used to send MIDI note on/off via OSC to UE5 and reactivity is programmed in Blueprints. The techniques I used and developed are available through NTRCT Patreon, Season 2 Courses 1 & 2. ​​​​​​​
