This film created by Tendril Studio is an initiative by Microsoft Design to honour the expertise & creative process by the teams at Microsoft in creating the new beautiful, moving, coherent icon system.
On this project my responsibility as the Jr. Houdini Artist was to design and simulate a cloth simulation that best conveys the exciting birth of the new Microsoft Office Icon.
The ribbon popping out of the sketch expresses energy of the "birth". The ribbon 'clicking' into position tries to depict the creative process - almost like a designer clicking the curves on an illustration program leading to the final Icon.
